Fine artist, went to Pratt Institute while Nixon and Ford were in office, had my gas siphoned out of my car once there. Earlier I had been a young Westchester County, NY resident who had the misfortune of moving to Dallas, TX in November of 1961. Two years later the only President I actually respected (well, nobody knew every intimate detail about this great orator) was assassinated in my town, not 12 miles from where I stood in my junior high school library. The summer I left high school, his brother and Martin Luther King were assassinated and I became dysphoric, depressed, unmotivated, fearful and determined not to go to VietNam because of some dumb domino theory that never came to pass.
Those were my formative years. I look for beauty in light and form, color and texture and try to convey how they make me feel either in photographs, altered images, paintings, colored pencil drawings and even the occasional charcoal and ink wash piece.
Most recently I have enjoyed living briefly in Tucson, AZ, happily with an iPhone glued to my hand. I hate phones, but those Apps can do some very interesting things that Photoshop alone could not. As I am by trade a Photoshop retoucher, I have a pretty good feel for how these effects are achieved and the apps are just way faster, though more limited in resolution and scope.
