Peter Bardazzi

I am an artist and media scholar living in New York City. I received a MFA with honors from Yale University and a Master Teachers Degree in Digital Entertainment from Silicon Studios, LA. As a professor I pioneered many visionary new-media and digital film programs at New York University including: The Director and Co-founder of The Center for Advanced Digital Applications, focusing on the complete digital production process for film/video and animation, 1996 -2004. Wrote the complete curriculum and directed a successful Masters Degree Program in Digital Imaging and Design which included courses in postproduction, special effects, cinema studies, and a thesis in digital film and animation at NYU. I also created the digital animation area and taught digital effects and new media at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Film Department for several years.

As a digital media artist and consultant for entertainment I have worked on projects with which included designing the in-house training curriculum and a directors/professors exchange program at George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic. Was a consultant for George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic, Apple, Pixar, Disney, and for the Academy Awards and co-produced an internationally distributed film. My writing on the cultural implications entertainment and film has resulted in recent appearances on CNN, ABC, CBS, E-Entertainment and VH1-TV and interviews in the LA Times, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News, NY Times, and the Associated Press.

In my professional career that focuses on fine art, I have exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Brooklyn Museum of Art; and is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, The Neuberger Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, JP Morgan Chase, The Library of Congress, Wesleyan University, Rockefeller University and many more public and private collections

I am currently writing scripts for two projects, "The Caravaggio Police" and the "History of Hell", working on new drawings and teaching at The Fashion Institute of Technology.
