I was raised in Palo Alto, California very close to Silicon Valley and Stanford University. Other than a short time living in Southern CA, I have always lived in Northern California (in the Bay Area). I'm retired now after working as an RN and a flight attendant for United Airlines. I'm happily married and have one daughter and two step children (adults now) and we have four grandchildren. My husband and I have always been collectors of just about everything (except for money). My favorite hobby at this stage of my life now is photography. I especially enjoy taking and viewing photos of cats and flowers, however I know this will change as I broaden my horizons. I don't have much experience with photography. I have only used "point and shoot" cameras and my iphone.

Although I have actually been a member of Flickr since 2009 (Pro in 2011) I have really only been active again since June of 2023. In 2019 I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular autoimmune disease. I had to take 4 years off from Flickr while focusing on my health. Whereas before Flickr was mostly used as storage for my travels and family, in more recent years I have added other types of images. I now enjoy the social aspects of Flickr...as a way to share my own photos and see the amazing work of others. I'm in awe of some of the brilliant artists I am following on Flickr.
