A string theorist without a clue on photography or photoshop.
My path to photography:
Age 0-21, being photographed by my Dad's various TLR, SLR, point & shot cameras, I did NOT like it, let along touching them. The only positive thing was the vibrant colors of the MARKS on those old lenses.
Age 21-27, bought a few digital cameras for travel, upgrading a few times for the sake of increase in pixels. First was Fujif finepix 1400, $320 for 1MP; then came Canon S400, for a hundred bucks more and 3 more MP; got FZ5 to zoom a bit farther, about the same price as S400, and Kodak V550 as a gift. All of these were not so cheap, and while all gave nice pictures with the exception of the Kodak. In December 2006 I bought a Nikon D50, didn't really use it until summer 2007. I quickly replaced it with a D80 and have been very happy.
Now that I am on the OTHER side of the lens I kind of enjoy it :-[]
As I tend to work hard on my own stuff, photography is at most a lower priority, although recently I spent a lot of time doing it. I shoot whatever comes along. Interested in artificial lighting, but so far didn't find an affordable solution.
