Banafsh is a rare gifted talent in our time. She is an artist on many levels from the visual world of photography to the written word of poetry and novels. By sharing through her lens the images that encompass her world she helps bridge the vast communication gap between mind, place and countries. Her photographs evoke both thought and beauty. Bana captures the special moments many of us pass by in our normal everyday routine. As an example of this she shows us a glimpse of a finely prepared meal, two friends playing chess in the park to the ornate architectural wonders of the past and present that inhabit all areas of her beloved Iran. Through her imagery she draws forth both the hard and soft aspects of what exists in life for everyone all around this global universe. Bana's photographs speak volumes in a quiet reserved fashion. To truly appreciate their meaning a quick glance is never enough one must emerge themselves fully into each image and let the meaning wash over you as the warmth of the sun on a summers day.
