BAMSI, founded in 1975, is one of the largest non-profit, human service organizations in Massachusetts. BAMSI delivers services that include day, residential, and family support; emergency services for those most in need; HIV/AIDS programs to both prevent the spread of the disease and work with those living with HIV/AIDS; elderly services for low-income and disabled elderly residents; behavioral health services that provide individual and family mental health support; and programs for children, youth, and families, designed to assist families and children access the necessary resources for obtaining a quality education and a healthy lifestyle. BAMSI supports over 25,000 individuals per year by a dedicated team of over 1,300 at more than 110 programs throughout the Commonwealth. BAMSI is certified by the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office, formerly known as the State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance (SOMWBA) and is also accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
