Hi - I guess you can tell by my photostream that I am an astronomer and a photographer.

My interest in photography began almost at the same time as I discovered astronomy. Once I began to use a telescope for photography I became hooked. Now more than ever the technology exists to be able to bring back the images of the cosmos that I see through the eyepiece and more.

My work has been used in conjunction with varius science projects involving both NASA, and ESA.

Observations are logged with the British Astronomical Society (BAA) and The Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers(A.L.P.O).

I supply images for the BBC Sky At night programme, various astronomy publications and podcasts, as well as being printed in a number of books by Sir Patrick moore.

Sometimes an image can take hours to capture and even longer to process. Often working through the night to bring back an image to share.

The sheer joy of seeing the image appear on the screen after lots of hard work aligning ,guiding and controlling the telescope and cameras is worth all the effort if in some small way my images can be of use, and inspire others to look up at the night sky.

Here's to clear skies
