17.04.11 update

on friday night i went to a great show at the gowanus ballroom. while i was down there i made a mental note to come down and take some picutres. i did that today.

my plan when i headed out was to shoot mostly b+w post-industrial shots...those always get me hot and bothered. but as the day went on i got transfixed by the random dashes of bright color...so it became much more of a color day. and you know what....i'm ok with that.

in somebody's profile (i forget who...my apologies to whoever it was) they said that they considered their work on flickr to be akin to a sketchbook. i like that. so i'm going to start thinking of it that way too, which is quite different from how i had been thinking of it. so consider everything here as (a possible) work in progress.

as the man said, i'll know my song well before i start singing.

24.02.11 update

did a lot of pruning today...removed on the order of 800 photos from my account (have no fear...they're all safe and sound on an external hard drive). it feels less cluttered in here, but there are still 1150+ photos. granted, 300 or so are manhole covers and another 250 or so are from the urban gardening set...but that still feels like a lot of images....i'm not quite sure what my plan of attack is (or if there will be another attack), so i'm going to leave it as is for a while and see how it feels.

carry on.

23.02.11 update

i think perhaps 5 people a year see this profile, so i'm probably pissing in the wind here, but anyway...

i've decided i have too many photos on my flickr site. 1772 public photos? absurd and unwieldy. so it's time to prune.

if you have anything to say about that, let me know. particular images that should stay, should go, etc...email me, leave a comment...you'll figure something out...

and that is all i have to say about that.
