“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” M. Proust
Returned to photography in May 2010 having hung the 35mm up in the 80's. Things have changed slightly and I love digital. Still have a soft spot for 35mm but love using digital. I am always looking to improve my photography and love having my camera round my neck. Living by the coast a large part of my photography is coastal however I enjoy all types of images.

I have a selection of pictures that can be purchased via:
www.redbubble.com/people/b16jdh/portfolio
Before you think It’s only a picture consider this based on my own experiences.
I pay for:
• My cameras.
• My computers.
• My processing software.
• My fuel travelling to the locations.
• Often a day travelling 200 miles by car will only yield one photograph that I publish for sale.
Then seeing as it is my job factor in these:
• My “wage” an hourly rate, it can take up to 4 hours to process one picture, what is a reasonable wage for 4 hours work? Be your own judge.
• A loss of a potential sale.
• My time chasing the thief through the legal process, time lost that I could spend processing other images.
Every artist have these overheads and more if they rent or own studios.
I’m sure may of you will be thinking that I should protect my work, prevent its theft, that I am to blame by not doing so. Let me address that right now. Do you shop at a store where good are displayed freely for you to choose, the store where you pick things freely from shelves, place them into a basket and then pay for them at the end of your shopping trip? Of course you do and you also know that you are expected to pay for everything you have in your basket. There is no difference.
Saying you “found it on the net”, linking the site or page or even the artist is not enough unless you have got written express permission to use each and every single picture you reproduce.
Unless the webpage or individual image makes it clear you can freely use it then the work is copyrighted and belongs to the original artist.
If you see a picture on flickr that does not appear on the above websites please feel free to contact me via flickr
