I am a painter, a sketcher, a writer, a teacher—but more than anything, I am an explorer. I'm endlessly curious about the world we inhabit, the ways we choose to live, and the many places we call home. I'm drawn to the marks we leave behind: the structures we build, the fields we plow, the trees we plant. In this way, mark-making is not solely the artist’s domain—it is a universal act.
I am fascinated by the marks made on paper or board. There’s a kind of raw energy in the first strokes of a pen, a looseness that speaks to something more expansive. These gestures are not just visual—they're conversational. My sketches are fragments of a dialogue, glimpses of broader narratives. Gestural lines, in their simplicity, often reveal more than detail ever could.
In truth, we are all making marks—on the world, on each other. I treasure these quiet traces: the overlooked moments, the fleeting interactions, the everyday beauty hidden in plain sight. My practice is about pausing long enough to notice, to reflect, and to find the story that’s waiting to be uncovered.
