I am married to Kimberly who is my best friend. She has blessed us with a wonderful family of 5 children who have grown up into beautiful adults and have blessed us with 11 grandchildren. Eight boys and three wonderful girls. There was a time when our kids were in High School and college on sports teams. When they were in High school it was a time when the craziness of life was simply figuring out who needed to be where and when. Arranging schedules to get to as many games as possible. Now we are patiently waiting for grandkids to start playing so we can go to their games.

Time continues to move on, and at a fast pace! I wouldn't trade it for anything! Life is good and grandkids are great!

Right now I use my camera as an excuse to get out and walk the local preserves and see what catches my eye. It works, and I call it exercise. I enjoy having a camera in hand and often go for walks looking for anything interesting. The simple goal is to keep moving, get a little exercise, and bring back a glimpse of things that caught my eye.

Athletic events are a natural subject for me because it has always been an important part of our kids' lives. I just don't get out to games like I used to. However, a good athlete is always a joy to photograph.

Volleyball was the family sport of choice. It's an incredible sport to play and exciting to watch. It's NOT however the easiest sport to photograph. The best thing I ever did was to pick up a Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 lens. It has the perfect range for volleyball. It focuses fast and lets in enough light for most gyms. (Enough light is not always enough but you have to make do with what's given you.)
