i can only guess that "azadeh.r.t." added me as a contact after tripping over me because i had posted some photos of the work of a local (Ottawa, Canada) graffiti artist which i had tagged "Azdead" and "rt". apparently she saw something in my pictures that she liked (i can't begin to imagine what) and she added me as a contact. self-centered heel that i am, i did not reciprocate. in the weeks that followed, i would periodically check on the comments my pictures had accrued and, from time to time, i would see some kind and simple remark from a young Turkish lady with the most beautiful smile in the whole wide world. tonight, on a whim, i made myself look at her photographs and came away from her site with the renewed conviction that Flickr is rife with young amateurs who's artistic skill blows the pros off the map. azadeh is a portraitist and a burgeoning photojournalist to be reckoned with. if not now, then very, very soon. keywords, "eye", "soul", "story", "memorable"... azadeh, thanks for the add, you are a better photographer than i, you are hereby added to my very short list of super-duper-people-who-take-pictures-of-other-people. deepest respect... forgive me for taking so long before looking at your stuff, dave.
