I guess I should put something here so here goes. I suppose I'm a bit odd, my mates reckon they don't understand me because on the one hand, I am a stereotypical 'rugby boy' and on the other hand I can be a serious nerd with a real love of gadgets, especially camera toys and a love of the natural world. I've even been accused of leading a double life because of this.
Based in South Wales, I am completely self taught as a photographer, I took photography in school, mainly as a bit of a cop out and didn't learn very much. I have always had an artistic streak and therefore an interest in photography but as I got fed up of sketching and painting, I got more and more interested in photography both as an art and as a reason for being outdoors and a way to get away from it all.
I have broad photographic interests but I really enjoy landscapes/seascapes, probably because I enjoy being there, with or without a camera.
I also want to learn as much as I can and try to soak up as much information as possible. I'm trying to learn lighting and really enjoy being able to control light to achieve the end result that I have visualised and am aiming to improve my people photography / portraiture. You may notice that I have a soft spot for wildlife but I love pet portraiture too.
I appreciate honest, constructive feedback on my images, I would love to know what you do or even don't like about a shot and welcome suggestions on how I could do better next time but don't be TOO hard on me, I'm only human.
I am on a constant learning experience but lately I think it is an obsession rather than a hobby, I think I need help.

OK we met through my wife stalking Andrew, after we passed aome nutter heading to some local waterfalls in flip flops, while we were wrapped up in coats and wellies!! After a few emails between ourselves we convinced him to get up for sunrise,(only after missing the first early outing) where we all got along instantly. Andrew has great talent, which continues to go from strength to strength and is always willing to not only pass on his knowledge, but willing to recieve criticism, as long as it's accompanied by tea and food!!

Nice one mate! Look forward to many more quality uploads from you!

Andrew is a talented photographer who always amazes me in his abilities. I've had the pleasure of being one of his friends for a relatively short period of time, but one thing I have learnt is that he is always a willing to share his talents and always gives encouragement to those that need it. I have to say that he is one of the hardest people to get up and out for a sunrise but when he gets there he manages to capture the most amazing photographs. One day I hope to be half as good as he is.
