I am an Titusville, FL based photographer who is originally from Longmont, CO. I retired from the USAF 1 Mar 2005 after 20 yrs of dedicated service. While in the USAF I spent 10 yrs as an Air Traffic Controller and 10 yrs as an Enlisted Weapons Controller on board the E-3 AWACS Sentry.

I am now currently employed as an Air Traffic Controller at the Space Coast Regional Airport Control Tower in Titusville, FL. Prior to this I worked at the Buckley AFB tower (Aug 2008 - Jun 2018), the Grand Junction Regional Airport tower (May 2006 - Aug 2008) and the NW Arkansas Regional Airport tower (Jun 2005 - May 2006). One of my main passions is aviation photography, but that does not stop me from taking photos of other subjects/events that present them self. Other forms of photography consist of landscapes, nature, hockey, bicycle riding, and go-kart racing. If I am not taking photos, then I can be found spending time with my beautiful wife and awesome son.

I am always interested in improving my photographic skills through various other photographic endeavors.

Louis' body of work is one of the most solid you will find among the countless aviation photographers on Flickr. Just take some time to look through his old stuff and follow it through to his newer stuff - it's just rock solid all the way through, regardless of where he's shooting or what equipment he's using. Louis' body of work is one of the most solid you will find among the countless aviation photographers on Flickr. Just take some time to look through his old stuff and follow it through to his newer stuff - it's just rock solid all the way through, regardless of where he's shooting or what equipment he's using. When I was more or less a total noob with this last year, Louis was extremely helpful with suggestions on how to improve the results I was getting, which is something I'm very thankful for. Lastly, you will be hard-pressed to find another collection of photos taken from such a good, unique vantage point like the ones Louis has had over the years.

Avsfan's dedication to excellence in aviation photography is amazing. The attention to detail that he captures, as well as taking beautiful photos of the numerous aircraft that basically fall into his lap is outstanding. One of his photos is proudly displayed in my squadron's bar. Keep up the good work.
