In an alternate reality I might have become a photojournalist. In this one, however, I've settled for keeping photography as a hobby.

I've been taking photos since I was ten and got my first SLR (a Pentax p30t) since I was 14, which I used through college. In the mid 2000s I converted to digital and around 2008 or so I moved to the Olympus E-series Four Thirds system. I now have two E-520 bodies, an E-3 body, and an assortment of lenses.

I am drawn to the extremes in photographic size - macro images and astrophotography - but due to limitations of time most of my shots are more mundane subjects that don't have as many setup requirements. In the future I hope to be able to travel out to dark nightscapes to really explore night photography.

Non-photography hobbies include travel, spinning, woodworking, bike riding and and raising children. Sometimes my photography reflects these interests, and sometimes the subjects are mildly random.
