The Australian Men's Handball team has been competing in the international scene since 1988.

Their first appearance at the World Championships finals was in Egypt in 1999.

Since, the Australian team has competed at one Olympic Games and have been regularly representing the Oceania region at the World Championships.

In January 2011, Australia will represent Oceania again at the Handball World Championships in Sweden. The team has been drawn in Group C alongside Denmark, Serbia, Croatia, Romania and Algeria.
