I am a 50 year old Australian, born in New Zealand.
A former Anglican clergyman, bookseller and funeral director, I now run a small computer repair, retail and consultancy business on Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia. I have a degreee in theology from Flinders University in South Australia, with major sequences in Philosophy and Biblical Studies, and have completed postgraduate studies in history and philosophy at the university of Queensland.
I have also completed some part-time studies in law, and am an A+ Certified IT Technician, a certified project manager, and a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (Enterprise Administrator).
I have a life-long interest in science and environmental issues. My training and education have given me a broad range of knowledge and strong research skills.
I read widely - general fiction, science fiction, biography, history, politics and science, and have written some published short stories and poetry.
I play World of Warcraft, and run a horde guild called Storm Lords.
I used to enjoy photography as a teenager, and did my own black and white developing. My enthusiasm was rekindled when I discovered HDR, and realised how effective this could be in bringing out the rich variations of shade and detail in all forms of photography from portraiture to landscapes.
While running my computer business, I am also trying to do some serious writing, and have a blog which concentrates on politics and science:
My home, American River, is a fishing village on Kanagroo Island in South Australia. In 2007 National Geographic described KI as 'the best island tourist destination in the Pacific region.'
