50 years of photography so far...
Having worked for BR, Metro-Cammell and GEC, I went wild in the country in 1986, and have been a graphic designer since then.
Railways are still the most fascinating subject in the world to photograph. Perhaps the greatest visual loss is the industrial infrastructure that was part of the scene until the 1990s. A forest of birch trees is good for the planet, but it's a poor visual substitute for a marshalling yard.
I (nearly) always carry a camera, and something gets photographed almost every day......
