I love to create art that sings about Christ's love for us. I live my life as worship for all he has done for me. It is my sincere hope that the work I create remind people that Jesus came to make new creations of us, to take something normal and turn it into something beautiful.
When I was a girl, I had a lovely sleepover with one of my aunts. She taught me how to make these crosses--how to fashion the frame, string up a bunch of pony beads and then wrap them together neatly. The process is still very much the same now, with just a few more years of experience in design and finer materials.
Today, I love to use turquoise, freshwater pears, metal beads, even paper beads that I wind together and emboss in my living room floor. I love making the cross beautiful--as a symbol of what Jesus did for us--taking the lowliest, most bitter and even evil thing and sacrificially and lovingly using it to set us free. It's a paradox really. The most beautiful paradox.
