A to Z Wineworks began in 2001 as a partnership of two winemaking families. Bill Hatcher was the business brains, developing and managing Domaine Drouhin Oregon from its conception until 2001. His wife Debra was the design genius who had worked for Eyrie Vineyards and became our phenomenal Sales&Marketing VP. Cheryl Francis, (who's the most technically savvy winemaker WE know), was making wine at Chehalem Winery for 8 years after testing her mettle in New Zealand and Burgundy. Her husband, 'that nice young' Sam Tannahill worked his impressive talent in Nuits St George before landing in Oregon to become Archery Summit's winemaker for 7 years.

When A to Z got too big for its britches it had the incredible good fortune to acquire Rex Hill Vineyards in December 2006, including the brand, the winery, the vineyards, and a killer staff.

A year + later we’ve got a slightly bigger family still focused on high quality, incredible value wines. We're committed to the ideals of 'doing well by doing good,' and to making the best product we can at the best price – and having too much fun while we do it.
