Photoblogging out of North Brooklyn

I started my A Test of Will blog as a means of establishing an online identity. Rather than risk saying something in a blog that would end up getting me fired or worse, I decided to try photoblogging. Where I used to just walk around, now I walk around and take pictures. Three years later it's a full blown hobby, though my equipment and technique remain relatively simple.

I carry a Canon Digital Rebel XT and shoot with a 28mm prime lens. I've got a 50mm lens but still struggle to find a good use for it other than baby pictures and other portraiture. For some reason I can't quite work out the range.

I also keep a small Canon pocket camera on me at all times. Right now it's the SD630 which is not very old but is probably already obsolete. It takes OK pictures but the long shutter feature is frustrating. The lens is really wide, which is handy for taking a too-close picture of a too-big thing.
