"I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them." --- Diane Arbus
I'm an architect, now retired, occasionally dabbling in antiquarian books, particularly in the fields of architecture and design. I've been a life-long amateur photographer, snapping pictures for the pure pleasure that it brings. My discovery of the world of flickr has been a revelation, as a place to discover how far I can go with a camera & a computer, and also for the vast world of like-minded folks who enjoy doing the same.
So please enjoy these photos, leave a comment or three if you're so moved, and a fave for any pic you might think has a bit of merit. If you'd like to use any of these images for your own purposes, I would be glad to have you do so, provided you attribute credit and ask first.

A long overdue acknowledgement of one of my oldest contacts and favorite photographers on flickr. Ed knows how to isolate just the right detail of a subject that not only creates compelling images, but presents more of the essence of the subject than if we were to witness that subject for ourselves...... His career in architecture has left him with an artistic sensibility that spills over in his appreciation of.....ummm...... well, just about everything! I don't just imagine that Ed would be good company to sit with over a cup of coffee, I know that he is since I was fortunate once to do just that.
Read lessI'm jonesing for winter with his cool landscape captures ~ which I was quite sure would never happen! Envious angles and sought after sketches and vignettes are sure keepers. Not to mention Ed's sense of humor and thoughtful comments. However, I think you need some more books, Ed.... errr, maybe I mean bookshelves… Read more

Read lessTo put it simply, Ed is one of the best photographers on Flickr. I always look forward to seeing his stunning photos of his surrounds in upstate NY, architecture, and his family and reading the wonderful stories that go along with them. He's a true treasure!
Ed's work is always unique in its perspective. His subject matter is wider than mine, but I like checking out his stuff just to enjoy the thinking process that brought him to make the picture. And he's generous in appreciating others' work, too.
atelier79033 is one of the kindest flickr people a ever met. I'm highly impressed by his photographers skill. I wish him all the best and for all much more photos from him to be published.
