We had visited about six "recommended" wedding cake specialists prior to arriving at A Sweet Design in Granada Hills. The specialists that had been suggested to us lacked creativity, their recipes were less than drab, and the cost was not in alignment with what they presented to us. We had decided that if we did not find what we wanted after visiting A Sweet Design, then we would just do without a wedding cake. We made an appointment with the owner, Joeleen Medina. We were cheerfully greeted, and when we sat down and explained what we were looking for, we felt that for the first time, someone was actually listening to us. Joeleen brought out quite a few different types of cakes, frostings and fillings for us to taste. Our eyes immediately lit up after tasting them because one was better than the next. Joeleen spent as much time with us as we needed to ensure that we were happy with the choices that we made. As we were leaving, after placing the order for our wedding cake, my future husband said, "Now I'm excited." The cake we ordered was a custom design and very detailed. When the cake arrived the day of our wedding, we just stood there looking at it. It was exactly how we had pictured it, and our guests are stilling raving about how unique and delicious it was. Joeleen is a master baker and very knowledgeable about her craft. We are sold on A Sweet Design, and would hardily recommend them to everyone.
