I created Astroshed in 1997 for taking astronomical images out of sheer personal interest. It snowballed from there, becoming a registered observatory capable of real science, but for which I really just use to take as good a look as possible at what is up there.

In order to create these images, the quality of the equipment and the operational accuracy needed, necessarily produces valid scientific data. That is the science of it.

I use this data for the very non-scientific purpose of creating a photograph of the object, purely for looking at. That is the Art of it.
