Since I had the good fortune to stumble upon Astrid’s work I have been mesmerized by her work and, like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, look forward daily to opening the “presents” Astrid has wrapped for us while we were sleeping. Astrid has a signature style and vision that enables her to see and capture the harmony and beauty of the ordinary world that surrounds us, finding beauty in subjects ranging from barnyards to shipyards and everything in between. What almost all of Astrid’s images have in common is a crystal clear purity and harmony of form, color, shadow, and line that literally stop one in their tracks. Look at the thumbnails where the details are hidden and you will see that a “classic Astrid” is as much an abstract work of art as it is a beautiful photograph. And although I don’t know Astrid well, based on her generous and kind remarks, it is my considered opinion that you would need to go a long way to find a more gentle, kind, and lovely person.
