The first memory I have of taking photographs is from when I was about 6 years old. My dad was a high school art and visual communications teacher and I got to tag along with his class on a field trip one day.

Many years later, at that same high school, I learned how to process film and make prints in the black and white darkroom. At the same time I spent every minute I could designing stuff on the Macs in the graphics lab.

I ended up doing graphic design production work while going to art school. I majored in painting, but also did a lot of photography and printmaking.

After university I spent a few years getting started in commercial photography and then got a job running web development at iStockphoto. During my tenure there I shot when I could, but mostly that meant documenting my various wilderness adventures while on holiday.

Semi-retired now, I’m becoming more serious about photography again. I try to shoot everyday and love learning new techniques.

I have several projects on the go, but the vast majority of my current photography is nature and landscape oriented.

I don’t post very hi-res versions on Flickr. If you want to discuss licensing anything from my portfolio please contact me.
