I'm a thirty-something year-old Asian ball-jointed doll hobbyist living in Upstate NY. I have loved Asian ball-jointed dolls (ABJD or just BJD) for a very long while. I saw my first Volks dollfie at Anime Expo around 2001 or 2002 and fell in love with the idea of them. It wasn't until 2011 that I began to seriously pursue collecting them. I have admired them since I first saw them at AX, particularly through the Haute Doll magazine, but printed material on them is quite scarce otherwise here in the States.

I hope to meet more people who are interested in BJDs in my area some day, but I'm quite shy. I am learning how to do my own face-ups, and buy my new dolls blank. Only my "adopted" dolls, who have come from another home, retain their face-ups. Once I improve, I may redo theirs over time.
