Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems.

Ashoka India, since its inception in 1981 has been developing models for collaboration and designing infrastructure needed to advance the field of social entrepreneurship and the citizen sector in India.

Today, there are 307 Ashoka Fellows working throughout India making significant contributions to a wide range of fields, such as civic engagement, health, human rights, education, economic development and environment.

Ashoka envisions a world where Everyone is a Changemaker: a world that responds quickly and effectively to social challenges, and where each individual has the freedom, confidence and societal support to address any social problem and drive change.

With more than 2000 Fellows in over 70 countries around the world, Ashoka has led a global movement for social change driven by the belief that nothing is more powerful than a good new idea.
