My work explores the relationship between acquired synesthesia and midlife subcultures.
With influences as diverse as Derrida and Roy Lichtenstein, new combinations are created from both explicit and implicit textures.
Ever since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of relationships. What starts out as triumph soon becomes debased into a cacophony of lust, leaving only a sense of chaos and the possibility of a new synthesis.
As shifting impressions become frozen through emergent and critical practice, the viewer is left with a statement of the limits of our era.

I met Ashi when I took his Photoshop class. In his class at one point he said "Isn't this fun???!!", and I could not help but be excited from his attitude. It is contagious. Ashi loves photography. Ashi has a great zest for life and that really shows through in his photos. When you look at his photos it makes you feel like you have been there and experienced what he has. He has great shots of Tel Aviv where he is from and he also has some great ones of San Diego where he lives. I like that he takes photos from around his neighborhood. A lot of people forget to do this, and we often take for granted the things that are right around us. I also like that he takes pictures of food. I especially like his shots from the Gay Pride Parade in Hillcrest. They are colorful and they give you a little slice of life from Hillcrest. Ashi also has a great sense of humor and this shows through in the comments and captions he writes on his photos. They make me smile and even chuckle out loud to myself. Thanks Ashi for sharing your wonderful photos!
