At this time, I am primarily using this space to document the build of our new house. When I am done, I will likely expand beyond that, but this is an all consuming project.

The 100+ year old house on this lot had been a rental (3 apartments) for more than 25 years. It caught fire (a space heater too close to a couch) and was subsequently demolished in early 2005.

I am building a new house with the foot print of the house (not including a small addition), with similar pitch 14:12.

The primary views - from 8th St and Avenue D will be very similar to the old house - Avenue D the closest. The 8th St side varies the most because the width of the Avenue D wing has gone from 12' or 16' to 20' thus creating a bigger gable, plus with current zoning the rear setback necessitated shortening the 8th St wing. Add to the that the chimney is now prominently located on the 8th St roof, rather than at the peak...

I have the construction photos which correspond to the old/reference photos tagged with the location they were taken from. Good examples are location 'g' & 'h' Search my photos for those with the tag 'g'

Enjoy!
