I've called photography an hobby of mine since 1984, when I purchased a Pentax MG. I mainly took still-life images and landscapes, and didn't see the potential of people until much later.

My knowledge of photography is limited due to two factors: a) I think if you read all the do's and don'ts, you can become too programmed which stifles creativity and b) I'm just too lazy to study.

I realised long before digital cameras became the norm, that photography would inevitably lead down that path. However, my first introduction to the digital camera was a big disappointment from the quality and control I had with my trusty film SLR, but knew it would only be a matter of time before quality and prices became acceptable. A few years later and the owner of a Minolta Dimage 7 was my next encounter, and boy did I fall in love with pixels over film.

I've just recently acquired a Pentax K10, and now feel at home with a true SLR. My passion with photography has just been rekindled with the "Picture This" tv program and I'm looking forward to new projects and capturing slices of life.

Thanks for looking at my photos and any comments that will encourage or help me.
