An Arty Guerilla is an artist who has created art works and left them to be found by others. The idea of work being left for people to choose free of charge is liberating both to the artist and the viewer.

The left works form part of this on-line exhibition and comments from those who find works are welcome.

If you have found an artwork we would particularly like you to let us know what you have chosen to do with it. mailto:

This year's Arty Guerillas project is undertaken by Escape Community Arts in Action in Warwickshire. The project is called 'A Story in a Teacup'. The project was inspired by an activity in a new book from Blackdog Publishing called 'Growing Stuff - An Alternative Guide to Gardening.'

The 2007 Stratford upon Avon Arty Guerilla event (known as Artspotters) was in collaboration with Escape Community Art in Action and celebrated their 10 year anniversary through the theme of 'Growth'.

2008 the Arty Guerilla/Artspotters event was another collaboration with Escape Community Arts in Action. Participants took images on the theme of shoes to compliment the Transformed Shoes installation at The Gallery. A series of photographs of Studley Escape participants and their every day shoes is juxtaposed with their fantasy shoes created from recycled materials.

88 images taken by Gill Holgate and Helen Robinson were 'left' in Stratford upon Avon, Alcester and Studley for people to find and hopefully feedback comments to the website via these flickr pages.

A selection of images were made into a short filmshow which was screened at Escape's exhibition at Stratford Leisure Centre Gallery. A shorter on-line version can be viewed via flickr
