I have downsized my list of contacts to a bit more manageable group (around 100 from 300 or so). I will also no longer almost always make you a contact if you make me a contact. That does not mean I do not like you or your pics - but I want to keep my contacts to a smaller list and actually regularly visit those.

I have not received any training in photography or art, but being married to a professional artist, sometimes a little art feeling rubs off. Since June 2012 my wife and I manage an art gallery in Kampen where you can see her paintings and my photographs.

An update: I just watched your 100 best slideshow. I was really struck by your skill for composition. Your architecture shots are always so tightly composed, you seem to have a knack for it. You also seem to make the buildings move rather than leave them sitting static. It's the same thing with your repeating pattern pictures - they always feel dynamic. I really like your water/ice shots too. I've always liked seeing pictures in puddles - yours are fantastic. :) I love the richness of colours you bring out in the reflections. Another thing that I'm amazed by is your candid shots - you take shots I wouldn't dare to, and "catch the moment" so well. I still find the mannequins creepy, but maybe that's because you shoot them as you would a real person! ;) I really like the mix of subjects that you take photographs of, and your way of catching animals and birds with an amusing pose/expression. I really enjoy seeing your images coming up on my homepage. :)

Hennie has the gift of a photographer's eye. His photographs are often surprising and always fascinating. I often find myself wondering how he saw what he captured with the camera. In addition to his eye, Hennie is a great technician. His sense of composition, color (or monochrome), and texture are enviable. It's always a pleasure to view his work and I'm fortunate to count him among my Flickr friends.
