With over 20 years of experience in the space industry, my strength is in combining complex data analyses with creative skills to make products that are easily understood and disseminated to a variety of different audiences.
I am currently a Program Manager and Senior Analyst with Bryce Space and Technology. I have supported the FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation (FAA AST), NASA's Office of the Chief Technologist and the Space Technology Mission Directorate, and various commercial clients. I am also a tour guide at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center, having served since 2003.
Previously, I was Communications Director for the Secure World Foundation (SWF), a non-profit organization dedicated to the peaceful uses of outer space through the rule of law. Before working at SWF, I was a space industry analyst for Bethesda-based Futron Corporation, supporting FAA AST, NASA, and the National Security Space Office (NSSO). Prior to my Futron work, I was a defense policy analyst for SAIC supporting headquarters offices in the Department of Defense. Throughout this time, I have been a freelance artist specializing in the subject of human activity in space, past, present, and future.
I earned a degree in political science from the University of Nebraska and a graduate degree in space studies from the University of North Dakota. I also served eight years in the United States Air Force, both as a nuclear cruise missile specialist and a bioenvironmental engineering technician.
In 1997, I ran for public office seeking the Omaha City Council District 6 seat. I lost the election to incumbent Lee Terry, who went on to serve in Congress.
