The Colorist

Self-taught and so not conditioned from usual formative ways, the artist Marco Iacolino is free from each stylistic and technical influence and so he is the creator of his own art, conditioned just by the emotions and the sensations of his life, that also reveals unknown, spontaneous and indeniable links. Sinking slowly in the vastness of soul, Marco Iacolino’s painting leads quietly the oberserver to his magic world, made of impalpable atmospheres and infinite change of light, where everyone can discover forgotten moments and sentiments; a landscape of the soul, hanging in a immobile and silent time or upset from storms which look eternal. The artist denies the representation of the objective world in a naturalistic sense and replaces it with a visual independent language endowed with its own meanings.

The artist build up his language elegantly, establishes rhythms and movements. Gentle and bright forms fluctuate freely, developing choreographies which expand, until surpass the material limits of the frame. The colour holds on the texture of the frame and , in these cases, there’s a strong tension of the colour in the space, and the movement happens throught the vibrations. He sticks with the spatula dense colours layer on layer, until cover the area of the frame. The “unformal” artist choses the expressive means for his tactile potentialities besides for his intrinsic chromatic value.

The rectangular form of the works has contact with the area in which they are and they weight on the enjoyment of the spectator. In the representation of the human figure and of the objects imitated from the reality, the artist at first considered the problem of the proportional rendering of each part.

This is Marco Iacolino, an artist born, may I venture to say, by chance or better, by fate. It seems that something ancestral and supernatural, drives that exact and accurate hand at stratifying coloured layers, and in his infinite simplicity makes all this simply…eternal.

En cuanto autodidacta y por eso no condicionado por los habituales itinerarios formativos, el artista Marco Iacolino queda libre de cualquier superestructura estilística y técnica, por lo tanto

es el creador de un’ arte propiamente suya, que es el resultado de toda emociones y sensaciones que vivió a lo largo de su vida, revelando sin embargo revela enlaces inéditos y espontáneos, que resultan innegables.

Profundizando lentamente en los estratos de la inmensidad del ser humano, la pintura de Marco Iacolino lleva el observador con toda calma hacía su mundo mágico, un mundo hecho

de atmósferas impalpables y de infinitas enmiendas de luz, en el que cada uno pueda volver a encontrar momentos y sentimientos olvidados; un paisaje del alma, suspendido en un tiempo inmóvil y silencioso, o trastornado por profundas tempestades que parecen ser eternas.

El artista niega la representación del mundo objetivo visto desde el sentido naturalista, con tendencia a sustituirla por el utilizo de un lenguaje visivo autónomo, enriquecido con significados propios.

El artista construye su lenguaje de manera elegante, estableciendo ritmos y movimientos.

Las formas leves y luminosas pueden fluctuar libres, dando a luz a coreografías que

se expanden hasta superar los límites materiales de la tela.

En ese momento, el color se junta a la tejedura de la tela y, justo en ese momento, se produce una fuerte tensión del color en el espacio, y el movimiento se realiza por medio de la vibración.

El artista aplica con la espátula los colores densos sobre cada estrato, hasta cubrir la superficie de la tela.

Entonces el artista " informal" elije el medio expresivo para valorar sus potencialidades táctiles, además que por su intrínseco valor cromático.

El formato rectangular de sus obras interactúa con el ambiente en que esas mismas están situadas, determinando el goce del espectador.

En la representación de las figuras humanas y de los objetos que pertenecen al mundo real, el artista se plantea como primera instancia el problema de la rendición proporcional de las partes individuales.

Marco Iacolino es esto, un artista que nace por casualidad, o más bien por fatalidad.

Casi parece que algo sobrenatural esté guiando a aquella mano tan precisa y atenta cuando estratifica tiernos estratos de colores, siendo capaz, en su infinita sencillez, de hacer percibir todo simplemente como....eterno.
