Saudi hawks

The pride of the royal Saudi air force (RSAF) is its display team, the Saudi hawks. Painted in eye catching green and white livery inspired by the Saudi flag.

The team was established on 1998 and currently based in TABUK city (king Faisal air base).

The teams fly six specially modified BAE hawk MK65 and MK 65A aircraft fitted with smoke generators. These smoke generators, capable of producing three different smoke colors.

The graceful display of the team is divided into tow sections, the first of which see the team’s six aircraft flying together in close formation. The most popular part of the show is the use of smoke to paint the Kingdome’s national emblem, a palm tree with crossed sword in the sky representing prosperity and justice.

The second half of the display sees the pilots demonstrate their skills with many opposing maneuvers that leave the audience gasping for breath.

The team has performed in all over the kingdom, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Austria, Belgium, and UK.

The team holds Guinness World Records for largest ever sky drawing.
