I love photography very much, and this is true. When I take one of my cameras in my hands or touch it I feel excited. I think there is something sexual in such equipment. Believe me – there is nothing better than to look through the viewfinder at the interesting things that mesmerise you. Then you press the button of the shutter and listen how it clicks. Wonderful!

You also can try it and I am sure you find it amazing. Why photography? Because to start it you need only a camera and possibly a computer, and a little time. However, an excellent camera costs very much but you should not buy one when you are a beginner. Almost any 35 mm film or 8 MP digital camera with CMOS sensor will satisfy your needs. In the Good Old Days you also should be able to work with photographic film and printing process but now you can use simple and powerful digital cameras and print photographs in any professional laboratory. Of course, you may still use “immortal” film cameras and do photographs yourself.

Beyond small format there are also medium and large formats where film and other photographic emulsion materials such as plates are still in common use. They can give you unprecedented quality but I do not encourage you to start with them because of their costs and complexity in use.

So that you have got a camera and what is next? Photography! Go to the street and take photographs of whatever you wish. Only one advice: think before you shoot and especially before print or upload them to the Net. Save your money and the nerves of other people. Study your camera and experiment with conditions of shooting. When you are used to do this then look at the professional works and read the books about photography. Live and learn. There are infinite types of photography like fashion, street, club, travel, portrait, natural, even such exotic as macro, micro and astrophotograpy. Thus, you can choose any of them or even several ones that meet your interests. And who knows maybe one day your activity will become your profession.
