Christian Uhlig is a self-made and independent photographer and filmmaker based in Tromsø, Northern Norway. Succeeding his studies of Geoecology and Agroecology he worked for more than 25 years as a researcher on Arctic Ecosystem. Following his live-long fascination for the North and inspired by the exceptional possibilities of time-lapse photography to visualize arctic light phenomena he published his first nature short film in 2017. Nowadays, Christian Uhlig has completed more than 30 nature short films from Northern Norway. His award winning films screened at more than 50 international film festival worldwide. In 2025 his film “Lights Of The North” was nominated for the Nordic Nature Award at the GREEN SCREEN International Wildlife Film Festival in Eckernförde.
