About Arco Iris: Arco Iris is a community samba based in Cambridge, UK. It was formed in 1992 with a little bit of financial help from the local council to get it started. Today it is totally self financing, self managed and self determining. At anyone time there are about 60 active drummers in the band. Literally thousands of people have played with the band since it was established. It has given a huge number of people the pleasure and excitement of playing live music - an experience they may never have had otherwise. We practice every Wednesday night at the Bath House, corner of Mill Rd and Gwydir Street, 7.30 - 9.30pm. Everybody is welcome. We play about 35 gigs a year ranging from village fetes to international samba festivals.

About this Flickr site: With such a long history, Arco Iris's committee decided it would be a good idea to try and put as many photographs of the band in one place as possible. As an archival site, the more pictures the better. There has been no attempt to select "the best" or the "highlights".
