Archives New Zealand, Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga is the guardian of New Zealand’s public archives.

We hold more than 70 kilometres of public records, documenting nearly 200 years of New Zealand history. Our holdings include documents, maps, plans, films, artworks and of course, photographs.
