Having retired after 36 long years as a school teacher and working mother, I am now indulging myself by travelling, spending time with my children when I can, writing and reading voraciously like a person who has been deprived of such luxuries on account of my work.

I learnt how to use my daughters Canon 350 D DSLR camera during April-May 2006 when I accompanied her on her fieldwork in the wilds of North Bengal. The thrill of capturing a stunning sunset, a candid smile of a child and documenting my daughter's field work has spurred me on to buy my own camera. I have enjoyed photography from the sidelines but now I hope to be a more active participant in the Flickr world. I look forward to sharing with you my experiments with my pride and joy- my Canon Ixus 75.

G. B. B. says:

An artist, a dreamer, nature lover and a warm, loving person who sees "the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wildflower" (in the words of William Blake) . Her pictures capture the essence of everyday living and beauty that often go unnoticed and unrecognized.
