How I got started---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am a self taught, amateur photographer. I slowly became addicted to photography after viewing inspiring photos here on Flickr and having a little mishap of my own. I had never imagined that I would get into such an expensive hobby.

In June 2009, I got my first point-and-shoot digital camera for two reasons: one, because everyone had it; and two, because I wanted to take nice photos. Without understanding much about camera, I took fireworks. In my mind, I was capturing big bursts of vibrant colors and long streaks of bright lights that illuminate the dark sky, the kind of images I had seen in picture books and magazines. Instead, I ended up with photos that were beyond awful that their only destiny was to take a quick trip to a trash bin (I did save them onto a disk so that I could laugh later). This mishap motivated me. I joined Flickr and started learning with my little P&S.

In June 2011, I finally got my first DSLR. I have so much to learn and hope to improve my skills. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

Formerly, my screen name was "Lunar Rainbow". So, there are pictures with that watermark in my photostream.
