A PLACE OF HER OWN™ (PLACE), an art-making and exhibition based organization is dedicated to sparking transformation from chronic heartache to resilience in women of color. By addressing the effects of colonization and patriarchy, we aim to help grow confidence, self-agency, compassion, and leadership amongst women, their families, community, and beyond

Through the use of creative experiences, artistic tools, and community we learn to name and challenge our dysfunctional patterns (due to ancestral wounding) and begin to use them as learning tools. We create platforms to access intuition, practice self-agency to leadership

and release judgment, guilt, and shame.

Womxn are encouraged to challenge colonizing thoughts and patriarchal conditioning.

Top 3 goals to reimagine our lives.

1. Name and Address Generational Wounding and resulting patterns of trauma born as responses to colonization (ancestral and Present day)

2. Recover, reclaim and use your “intuition”. Learn to trust your gut feelings

3. Grow a true sense of “belonging”. Belief in your importance, contributions, and value to society.
