The AP Drought Mitigation Project (APDMP) is a Project designed from a synthesis of the past

experiences and is aimed at mitigating the adverse impacts of droughts in 5 districts Anantapur,

Chittoor, Kurnool, Kadapa and Prakasam.

It focuses only on the dryland areas of these districts. APDMP, a Government of Andhra Pradesh and

IFAD supported program intends to take up comprehensive measures to mitigate adverse impacts of

droughts and to achieve climate resilient growth in 5 districts.

APDMP has an overall objective of comprehensively working on reducing/ mitigating drought related

distress. Its strategic initiatives encompass Natural Resources Management, Production Systems,

Livelihoods and is centered around community based institutions.
