André Paxiuta was born in Lisbon, Portugal, on January 11, 1983. He was drawn to photography at the age of 10 just for the fun of it. By the age of fifteen he would consume photography through the work of Salgado, Winogrand, Parr, Frank, Meyerowitz, among others. He started paying bills with photography in 2003 and after six years in the industry he lost the drive to click, stopped shooting, changed careers and sold his gear.

In 2013 he became a father. Between jobs and diapers he started hitting the streets of Lisbon with his old film camera just for the sake of sanity. He wandered the streets framing life as it happens. At home he was all for one...in the streets he is none for all. Gradually he recovered his love for the art and he now splits time between his regular job, street shooting and the development of social documentary projects.
