Wildlife photography became a passion of mine back in the fall of 2005. I was invited on a salmon fishing trip to Alaska and brought my only camera at the time, a point-and-shoot. Early mornings fishing for salmon were filled with amazing opportunities to photograph eagles. It was on this trip I realized this would become a lifelong passion and I quickly learned the limitations of a point-and-shoot. Upon returning home I bought my first DSLR the Canon Rebel XT coupled with the Canon 100-400mm (Version I). In the early days, I photographed anything that was wild -- big game, birds, insects, amphibians and reptiles. Years later though, I realized my true interests were in photographing birds and decided to focus primarily on North American birds. Over the years I have had the opportunity to have some of my work published in books and magazines, but my ultimate goal with bird photography is to photograph all 760 species of breeding birds in North America. I still have quite a ways to go :-)
