I am a Professor at UCL. My research is focussed on understanding aquatic diversity - how it has changed in the past, and evaluating current threats such as climate change and human impact. I also work on methods to reconstruct past climate change in Eurasia, most notably from sediments deposited at the bottom of Lake Baikal (Russia).

Although some of the photographs here are of friends and holidays, the majority probably reflect my research interests in Russia and Botswana.
