I am a biologist and I have been writing about and photographing the Portuguese natural heritage since the mid 80s. I am fundamentally interested in terrestrial ecology and particularly fond of birds. I am now retired but continue to do some bird census work in the pine woods near where I live.

I was born in 1956 and I have a daughter.
