I have always loved macro photography. I have never been able to put into words what it means to me until I read a copy of" Outdoor Photography" where a macro master (Ross Hoddinott) had written the below statement, and it's how I feel so in his words I write the following; As we all have the ability to reveal a hidden world, highlighting or isolating small, interesting detail, texture, shape and form. You need to rediscover childlike curiosity and get down on your hands and knees to see what is there . Learn to closely study objects that you might otherwise walk by or overlook. For example, mossy logs, lichen-encrusted boulders and seaweed-clad rocks can all present a host of opportunities when viewed up- close.
For many years my health has suffered due to my lower back. I have so many problems that even surgery didn't help me. I have lot's of medication which I have to take to enable me to get through a day. I am never pain free but some days are good and others are bad. When it's a good day I love going out with my camera and yes I take lots of photo's it keeps me sane. Many of my photo's I can use in my water-colour paintings. Photography really makes me happy and I would like to thank my husband Jim who is very patient and my Flickr friends that take the time to look at my photo's. It encourages me when I look at other Flickr photo's to be the best.
Please feel free to leave comments and favourite shot's.

That makes you a warm, nice, inspiring and beautiful person. And the fact that photography makes you happy (and gives some kind of distraction, I assume) is shown, you have wonderful pictures. Hope you and your husband will have the strength to keep on fighting that horrible pain. Wish you and all your loved ones lots of health, love and beautiful moments. Annette, you have some lovely shots in your sets, and you have obviously gone to a lot of trouble with researching your subjects as you give very good background information on the animals and plants and the places you visited to take the shots. I particularly like your macro work which is not an easy skill to master, so well done and keep posting your images on Flickr for us all to share and enjoy. Jim
