"Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart." — Kahlil Gibran
Anne Grgich, says of her work, “So much is involved in my work and where it comes from, all at once: bold and luminous, painterly, gritty, grotesque, hysterical, historic, collage onslaughts treated to various ends for color (as a palette), as form, as reference, reverence and design — all overlain with the calligraphy of my own religious vernacular — a feverish automatic painting vocabulary with infinite, mutating dialects.” Anne Grgich-Gasoi

I feel another dimension when i see her Art. Its feels good!!! Art is a step from what is obvious and well-known toward what is arcane and concealed. ....Kahlil Gibran

Seeing your work in person is a luxurious visual treat in its raw methodical mystery. I have trouble discussing it. I am glad that I cannot easily describe what I am seeing or how it makes me feel. Aside from being intrigued by the untamed rawness of layers, materials and combination of art and non-art materials the images communicate something about the human condition both as a whole or individually. I am reminded of so many things including how as we get older or we are taught to "unlearn" creativity through homogenizing characteristics or that we should make understood/recognizable images, but with your work I want to experience one unrehearsed session of creative expression, one that allows for a freeness such as yours. I really appreciate seeing the variety of subjects as it gives context to some of the singular portraits as well as even more exciting surface to contemplate. I am drawn to how the images and figures (while mostly female) seem to be almost universal in their denial of skin color, distinction of features or class. You have a wonderful thing inside of you. Thank you for sharing your poetics in colors, lines, layers, and spirit.
